2024 Community Grants

Proudly supporting 15 local groups to help build strong, inclusive and thriving neighbourhoods across Sydney
and the Illawarra.

Program Focus Areas

Bulli High School

The school will purchase new equipment (music, sewing, science lab) for its 1,100 students, including classes in the Autism Spectrum Disorder Support Unit.

Corrimal Public School P&C

The P&C's grant will fund the purchase of cubby houses and outdoor giant games for the school's social skills program.

Fairy Meadow Hockey Club Inc

The club will use the grant to purchase new protective gear for players, uniforms and first aid kits for the Under-9, Under-11 and Under-13 teams.

The club will use the grant to purchase new equipment for its matches.

Illawarra Wheelchair Basketball

The Rollerhawks will use the grant to purchase a new junior wheelchair so it can continue to attract junior players.

Jirrawich Aboriginal Community Centre

The grant will be used to fund cultural camps for young Aboriginal people aged 7-17 years wanting to learn about Aboriginal culture.

Local Community Ventures

The grant will be used to purchase shelving, benches and a fridge to store free fresh food hampers at Thirroul station as part of the Illawarra Food Hamper Program.

PlantingSeeds Projects

The grant will be used to develop a local  B&B Highway initiative – Bed and Breakfast for Birds, Bees, and Biodiversity across six local schools.

Goal 10Police Citizens Youth Clubs NSW (PCYC Eastern Suburbs) 

The PCYC’s grant will support the ‘Fit for Life’ early intervention program for at-risk and disadvantaged young people in the Eastern Suburbs.

Property Industry Foundation

The grant will be used to help fund the renovation of the Caretakers Cottages which provides accommodation for homeless children in crisis.

Goal 3Randwick City Football Club Purple Hearts

Existing soccer program for people with disability (Purple Hearts) free of cost: will cover insurance, uniforms and equipment.

Sailability NSW (Illawarra Chapter)

The grant will be used to purchase a trailer which can transport six boats used for sailing activities for people with a disability.

The Shepherd Centre for Deaf Children

The grant will be used to replace toys used in individual and group play-based therapy programs.

South Coogee Public School

The grant will be used to build an outdoor learning space that includes an outdoor kitchen, a sensory and sustainable garden and classroom.

Southern Youth and Family Services

The grant will be used to purchase grocery vouchers for emergency food and grocery items as part of SYFS's work at the Cringila Community Centre.

Since its inception in 2021, the NSW Ports Community Program has supported more than 50 local groups in Sydney and Wollongong doing beneficial and sustainable work for their streets, parks,
sports clubs and schools.
